Front Hydro pump pictures or ideas?

I currently have a TO-35, that I would like to setup a log splitter on, a hydro pump would also allow me to use my winch I have as well. Alot of my property where I get wood from has steep hills, so this saves me from cutting and carrying on the ravines.

I was eyeballing a pto pump from prince that was ~20GPM at 540PTO, but it would be more ideal to have a front mounted pump for me. I have searched here but seem to be coming across old/dead links. I was hoping someone might have some information on parts or even pictures of how theirs is currently set up?

Thanks

I bought a front pump from this site a couple of years ago. I use it for a front loader. It works fine. I have forgotten the details, but I think it was about $300. You will have to make a bracket.

It might be a good idea to fine a wrecked loader with a good front pump set up, 'cause they get complicated. If you get the pulley shaft, bearing, clutch- and enough of the loader frame to mount it solid, you saved a lot of time, hopefully money. I will sent pics of my front pump later tonight if you want-

Please post pics!

I have a front mounted grape hoe that I might need to get a pump for.

I am going to try it off the tractor hydraulics first...

I have a vertical log splitter that I made and use on a Farmall Super A. It has the Prince pump that you describe. It works very well but I only use it on blocks that are too large to get onto my other splitter. I break up large blocks just enough so that I can handle them. I can feed a single cylinder engine a whole lot cheaper that I can feed a tractor.

Here's the pics of what I think you need to go by

Buy the parts used on something like a MF 202 Workbull tractor with model 200 front loader. It's pretty much the same as a 35, depending on what engine you've got.

I've got one sitting in my shop. MF 202 tractor. Front industrial #200 loader, front Cessna crank-driven pump, and a Continental Z-134 gas engine. I'd sell the whole mess for $1200. Good project for somebody.

PTO pump works very nicely, especially if you have a live PTO. That's what I use on my splitter. Makes the splitter portable and useful on any tractor (with a PTO and 3 pt. hitch).

Thanks for the pictures, I was thinking it would have to go all the way out the front but wasn't 100% sure. Means I would need to do a brush guard as well, which would make a good pump mount.

How are they hooked to the crank pulley. I see mine is slotted on the nut and that appears what most Fergy's had when I was at the local tractor show this weekend.

Just thought I would add some more things that may help others. I came across a neat little setup someone was making for a Ford

...hmm can't post the link as it sees it as spam. If you google for Front Mounted Hydraulic System, it is the first link going to the N tractor page.

The pump is recessed inside the reservoir. I could see doing something like that as I couldn't decide where to put mine yet. It would be also nice to throw the extra weight up on the front, as I seem to carry to heavy of things out back :p

More notes for the notepad....thanks for the WorkBull idea. Searching around I stumbled across a part # for the crank adapter. Imagine the pn bounced back to this site and others.

I'm going to do some looking at the tractor when I get home after cutting some wood. But if this adapter will work for mine, the I think I know which route I am going.

The email forwarding never gets to me and I have no idea why. I've tried to get it fixed many times. But this IS a free forum, so I can't really complain.

I sent you an email.
