Starter/Crank Handles

Hi everyone,

I am looking for two starter/crank handles to suit Ferguson TEA20. Good used condition is fine. Where can I find some, and how much can I expect to pay?

There is one listed on this site for $19.12. I am thinking of going this route for me TE-20 due to a damaged starter and ring gear. Is it hard to start a tractor this way?

My experience with hand cranking is that if the tractor starts good with the starter it will start good with a hand crank, sometimes better. just my 2 cents

Paully, please go into the archives and find an article about hand cranking, I remember talking about it maybe 3-4 months (?) ago. There are a few things you should know before starting to do it. As I remember hand placement is very important. Richard

Sorry, I should have checked more carefully. The crank handle on this site is for the TE-20, To-20, and TO-30.

OK, so I assume the handles are different for Standard vs Continental engines. Any ideas where I can get some for the Standard engine?

K.C. Farm Machinery at Yatala (near Beenleigh, Qld) are very good and have parted out a few Fergies. They also have a branch at Lismore, NSW.

There is a guy at Gatton, Qld who has absolutely everything - probably parted out dozens of Fergies, but his prices are outrageous and I won't buy there on principal!!! He would be your last resort.

I'm sure you won't have a problem finding a used crank handle.

Thanks Bob, I sent them an email as well. I'll see how that goes.

How much is this guy from Gatton QLD likely to charge for one?

OK, so far MD Tractors and Machinery, Wagga Tractor, Heads Tractor Services have all said they can't get a used one. Still waiting to hear back from K C Farm Equipment.

Well, he slugged me $50 for a rusted V shaped bonnet strut which convinced me Ned Kelly is alive and well and living in Queensland! He has a reputation for changing too much.

I will pass through Gatton early Thursday or Friday morning and will get his contact details and post here. I doubt he has email - you may need to call him.

There is a dead '53 TEA20 at Ilfachrome (20 kms east of Longreach) which I thought had a crank handle, but checked this afternoon as I passed through the town but it was gone.

Most of the original and genuine TEA20 crank handles I've seen (including my own) are usually worn on the two engaging pins.

There is a small machine shop here in Roma that could make you an exact replica of my crank handle at a good price, however I doubt the price would be less than the after market crank handles sold by MD etc.

I have occasionally seen them on EBay.

I could, but it doesn't affect its usability at all. I've lost the one I have been using, and need to replace it.

Now I can't remember my password.......

Here's the details I promised. Contact Helidon Tractor & Machinery Sales Pty Ltd phone (07) 46976003

Good luck!
