Here. is my next question. When I bush-hogged Sunday it seemed that first gear was a little fast for the job.On down the line I want to put a tiller on this tractor ,but I think it will be a little fast for it. Is the high -low an option and what would it cost? Thanks Billy P

a to-20 in first is to fast for a tiller with a regular transmission. i have a huppet or what ever it's called three speed add on trans and run it in low low with a 5 foot tiller tiller runs a little slower not 540rpms but close at full throttle and it works great i till every thing from hard clay to sand. some say there is no such thing as a three speed huppet but i have one side lever goes up and down but a also when the side lever is in neutral pull it out to the right and then up it has another gear that is real slow. have one in the shop fixing for a guy that never had any idea that he has a three speed. i have 5 to-20s two with three speed aux. gears

Sherman made a 'Hi/Lo' for your TO. I have one coming in that I will be going thru to make sure it is reliable. Price will be $950.00. Includes everything you need to install in your TO and still retain your starter safety.

What you have is Hupp's 'Dual Drive'. An attempt to get a bit of Sherman Bros' market for the Aux transmissions. They are actually a very good unit but, there aren't anywhere near as many as the Shermans, and Hupp parts are getting VERY difficult to find. Treat them well.
