Well, today I went out and did just what John (UK) suggested and the problem is fixed. Funny how such an overwhelming problem can be simply fixed with just a little know-how.
Just like George said I had never touched a tractor before I bought this one but, I have always loved old machinery bacause of the practiical way that it works. I grew up on a small farm in the NC mountains but my Granddad always had horses. Went away to college 40 years ago and then lived in a city until just 6 years ago. I slowed down in work and bought 5 acres to play on. So now that I have this old tractor it kind of takes me back to when I was a kid.
Anyway I,m indebited to you all for the great advise and support.
