I also have a 1954-55 TO35 with a cracked lift cover. Haven't been able to locate a good used "thicker" lift cover yet. Found several aftermarket top covers available on ebay listed under a bunch of different Part numbers: 1870955M2, 190861M1, 190861M2, 884612M92, 884615M1, etc, etc. Does anyone have experience the aftermarket lift covers and happens to know which one will fit an older TO35? Thanks

I was on mine when it cracked the lid and case. Don't recommend being in that position when it happens. Oil shot between my legs and over the hood. Could have been straight up. Took 3 yrs but found complete used rear end. Suggest you replace pressure release valve and consider a new hydraulic pump. Had my old release valve tested. Would NOT crack open at 8000lbs, was supposed to operate at 2000lbs. I purchased 3 relief valves before I found one with lowest setting of 2700lbs. Had all tested. All were advertised for TO35 and 2000lb relief point.
