TO20 engine oil pump

I have a 1949 Harry Ferguson TO 20 that I need to rebuild the engine oil pump. The kit I got has all the stuff but the main aluminum drive gear is not grooved or drilled for a set screw. Its smooth on both sides. Is it supposed to be only pressure fit on the shaft or what? Im a mechanic but this has me puzzled.

Ive done quite a few of these rebuilds. You will need to tap hole/groove in the pump gear to the shaft. I have put a starter notch in the gear
opening then put on pump shaft and tapped it in place.

There was a fixture made to keep the drill bit centered while drilling the dissimilar metals of the gear and shaft. I found one on eBay a while back, I'm not sure if they are still available.

Just the info I needed. Thank you fellow Fergymen. I bought an oil pump repair kit OPA60K and the set screw provided was 3/8 diameter. I
couldn't imagine there would be a set screw that big and I'd never have used it. I find it interesting that these aren't pre-drilled. I'm
new to this forum and appreciate your input and expertise. Thanks again.
