Z-129 refreshed head

I rebuilt a Z-129/T030 engine 3 years ago and cheaped out on the head due to shortage of money. I had a local guy grind the valves, but the guides were worn and the engine uses oil and blows a lot of blue smoke episodically.

Early July this year I dropped a spare head off at the machine shop. I'd gotten it in a package deal for another TO30 and parts tractor. I don't have a before picture unfortunately, however it was noted on the shop ticket "left a mess".

Here's the mess cleaned up and the itemized invoice. FYI and FWIW.

I won't have time to install this head until the cold season, and there's a Ford with a blown head gasket in line in front of this machine. I'll likely post some pictures when I do the swap.

It looks like they did a nice job. But what's with the incoming shipping for $30.00? You said you dropped it off.

"Seems reasonable to me"

Yes, no complaints about the price because I am confident I got what I paid for. The shop is over an hour away, worth the trip. There's not many around anymore.

Not sure about the incoming shipping, I didn't see that until I reviewed the bill when I got home. They procured/provided all the parts. I'd guess it's associated with getting those parts on hand.

I just priced getting an NAA head done. Hot tank, surface, grind seats/valves, guides if needed.

~$300 just labor, two different good shops.
