Howdy folks,
Almost finished with the restoration of my 1958 TO-35 diesel. The start switch I have won't properly fit the hole in the dash. The dash has a cleanly punched "D" shaped hole, so I don't think it's farmerized. The switch I have appears to be correct for a TO-35 diesel (CCW for heat etc.) but the barrel of the switch is smaller than the hole and is also "D" shaped. The dash hole is about 0.803" and the switch barrel is about 0.590" I've checked around, and all I can find is the 0.590" smaller barrels, not the appropriately sized one. Problem with it is that I cannot tighten it down enough to stop it from turning in the hole. The switch has a heavy spring for both heat and start and as you can see in the pic, the metal lettering plate turns with the switch scratching the new paint
Any thoughts on this? Does the diesel have a larger hole? I can't imagine it would.
Thanks for any ideas...
