Fergie to a new home

At one time I thought having a bunch of old tractors would be fun. Since my son passed and I turn 76 in a couple of days keeping everything running has gotten harder. I just delivered the '54 TO30 to my cousin. When I took it to show he drove it in the parade anyway while I drove my Ford or Massey or other Massey. He loved it. I paid $500 for it and a shredder - was not running when parked. Converted to 12v, neg. grnd., new carb, changed fluids and off we went. Good tires and straight sheet metal. Granddaughter in the driver's seat. PS: sold the basket case 8N too, got the money, buyer hasn't picked it up, dadgumit.

I had the same thought at one time. Now with age advancing and the get up and go is turning into get up and went I am also looking at clearing out the collection, such as it is, not to mention a whole of everything else. Sorry to read of the loss of your son, mine on the other hand has far too much energy and spent a great deal of that in his 20's running south of the law. Now in his 30's is paying for it in many ways that will follow him for a fair amount of his life. He has no desire to acquire and my toys will probably not be his.
Such is life.

Yeah, many years ago, I brought a TO-20 home for the wife with a Howard and Hupp trans in it and a Rototiller on the back of it.
It was a near basket case and I reworked it from top to bottom, front to back. I am still not done playing with it.
Along my travels I also picked up an Everett to add to the toy.
I have to make a decision some day as to where that machine is going to go. The son will wind up with my Kubota MX5400. I figure that will roughly be a $50K machine with backhoe and a few other gizmos. He can either sell it or use it.
Time will tell how this all works out.
