No pictures yet, but I just purchased a fairly streight to20. It has new rear tires, but rear rims are shot so Ill have to figure out where to get those, some one converted it to 12 volt.. and that needs redone as the pulleys dont line up and its not wired correctly. The previous owner stated that no matter what he couldnt control the throttle and it revved high.. and died under his large maple tree and thats where it sat for 2-3 years. The throttle seems to work ok, Im guessing the carburetor butterfly maybe somehow broken Ill investigate when I get it home tomorrow. Any other thoughts on why it revs high even tho idle looks to be set ok and the throttle rod is free from binding?

My first thought is the governor. Someone on here posted a great description on how the governor works on these tractors. In short it keeps the engine from over revving. Soooo........

Generally governor. Check the YouTube channel bundy bears for how to. It's not a terrible hard job but be very careful getting the governor cover off. It's aluminum and the two dowel pins stick in the he engine so prying off in the wrong places cracks the housing.

Ive replaced a few of these governors, Ill check it all out when I get it home. I was however thinking its going to be the butterfly in the carb, just due to the fact that previous owner stated that he had no throttle control at anytime and throttle was wide open, linkage moves as it should on carb to governor arm. Ill start there and we will see.
