Ive been working on this TO20 for about a week now on and off. Ive now gotten to the point to where Im ready to install the 12 volt conversion, this is by the way my first TO20 Ive worked on, my previous projects have been all TO30s. Anyhow, this 12 volt conversion is a lot different than the 30s, starting with the lower alternator bracket, I had to remove the factory one that also was a shim. The other side had no shim so I should be good. But by removing that shim, it put the alternator pulley nut closer to the shroud. The top bracket that comes with the 12 volt kit seems out of alignment. It just looks crappy to my eye, the bottom bolt that holds the alternator in the bottom bracket is very close to the belt, as is the top brackettop one may even rub a little after all said and done. Im almost considering putting it back to 6 volt and be done with it. However Im almost done with the conversion... but its been a headache for sure. Ok Im done rambling.
