TO20 oil filter questions

Howdy,,, I am wondering at the size of the TINY hole in the vertical tube that feeds the oil to the filter from the center main bearing. I did not have a small enough drill bit to prove the actual size as I figure that exact size is going to have to be maintained in order to maintain correct engine oil pressure. Does anyone know for sure what size it is,?? Thanks for all help.

Hey Duner Wi,,many Thanks for that info,,I've broken all my real small drill bits,,,,LOL
Can I run by some of my questions on the oiling system of the TO20's,,? Since I did not hear a "NO",,I'll go ahead and ask,,,,,LOL
I should get the new main bearings Mon or Tues and should have bottom end all lashed up by the PM Tues. (fingers crossed)

It is my thought to plug the outlet on the center main that went to the original oil filter. I have already modified a properly supported oil pump suction screen from a SBC to fit onto the Ferguson oil pump. I also have welded up the big hole on the oil pan. THEN, I want to "TAP" into the port where the oil pressure gauge goes on right side of engine for supply to a new external filter system. Also plan to route the outlet of new oil filter assy to a new port on valve cover.
Reason for wanting the size of the tiny hole on that tube "IS", I am wondering if the new oil filter supply line will also have to be "orificed" or can it run full stream,,,?

I finally got ahold of the PO to ask WHY the inside of engine was SO FILTHY and his response was, "It is such a PITA to change filter"" inside the oil pan! ,,so he just took out all the extra parts except for the tube with the little bitty hole,,,,amazing what people will do when faced with an issue,,,,

I would use orifice in system, either my own or built into filter.
.0625 th is common orifice size built into filter. 1959 AMC Rambler and Wisconsin engines come to mind. Some hydraulic filters also.
Pay attention to your oil pressure under steep conditions to make sure you have oil pressure at all times.

There are pictures in the archives of what you are doing using a full flow Ford FL1 or Fram PH8 filter. If you can't find them using this sites search try google searching this site, Good luck.
