I need help finding the bushings for the carb linkage on a TO30 and I've looked everywhere, my locale tractor guy said nobody sells it but I want more than one
opinion. Can anybody tell me who or where I can find them, its such a small part but nobody sells it.

You might try taking it to a local auto parts shop. A lot of times they have bushings for individual sale. You will definitely need to talk to someone who may bring out a box assortment. The older the store the better chance you may have.

I don't know. I just bought the tractor used and it had a chinese aftermarket carb that I replaced with a rebuilt marvel schebler from ebay. The tractor runs great but the governor linkage is binding and I cant control the idle speed very well. The schebler didnt come with connectors or bushings. I think Ill contact the carb seller on Ebay and get his opinion. Thanks.

(quoted from post at 05:32:19 05/28/22) Thats kind of what I was thinking also. Thanks.
The carb on my TO 30 and TO20 and others Ive dealt with in the past all had holes in the tabs for the linkage rods to to simply slide into, then a cotter key or push pin can be used to keep in place.

I'm working off old memories here, but I want to say there is a threaded ball in the hole on the throttle arm and a socket end on the rod.

When the length of the control rod (from the governor arm to the carb) is correct, the throttle will be held against the idle stop when the dash lever is at idle position. The length of that rod is critical, slack will cause problems.

in the blown up schematic, #45, 58 and 46 is what Im familiar with. The 90 is what hooks into your carburetor. And then a cotter key is placed to keep it from falling out.

I've replaced the governor - carburetor linkage with this set-up on two out of three of my Fergusons.

Available from McMaster-Carr, search for 'oil impregnated ball joint' - you want '(2) internal 1/4" RH thread'. That an a fabricated 9-3/8" rod (1/4") with 1/4-28 threads on both ends worked well for me with both a TO-30 and TO-35. Requires no modification to the carburetor bell crank or the governor lever.

Thanks for all the very helpful replies. I am on the road all week but will work on it first chance using your input.
