Ive been working on this old Ferguson to30 for about 3 weeks now. The last and final job I needed to do is add gas and try and start. Well it hasnt ran in many years, the float was stuck open and I had a mess of gas to clean up. I removed the carburetor and dissembled it. I had a rebuild kit on hand.. or so I thought, its missing stuff, the only thing I could use out of the kit I had was the carb gasket itself and the carb to manifold gasket.. which is really thick. Anyhow I disassembled the carb and soaked over night. This eve I went out and reassembled carb and installed. I set the high speed jet to app. 1 turn out and the idle jet to 7/8 and then 1 turn out. It sputters and tries to start, but no dice. My sediment bowl leaks as well, so one step forward and three steps back. Im ordering some sediment bowl gaskets made of cork tomorrow and a complete rebuild kit, also getting some new Chem tool to soak carb once again. So its back to the drawing board. Any advice is appreciated; this is what the carb is doing, Im getting fuel to the float bowl also when I turn it over it has a weird gurgling sound coming from the carb for about two seconds after trying to start it. Ive rebuilt carbs before including a few of the TSX models in the past. This one has me stumped for now. Ive got great compression and good spark..
