Well,,,Guys I had the best intentions and made me a list of things to check per ya'lls suggestions and long bout first crack of sun The Grandson comes over and asks if I got his little side by side running aand I had to fess up I ain't figured out why it will not start,,,,It will crank like heck but I'm pretty sure the magneto is toast even tho the buggy is only 10 months old!!I messed with it all day and tried several things but still NO SPARK,,,So I told his Daddy to call the dealer to see what they can offer,,,,?
Bout all I done on the Fergie is press out the old pilot bearing and clean the flywheel and tap out the 6 bolt holes for pressure plate,,glad I did cause they were full of Chit,,,where did all that chit come from,,,??
To answer one question,,,I had not planned to replace the liner O Rings but now ya'll got me worried plus now I got time to figure why #3 is binding,,,,,.
Ya'll know what kind of chit us older folks go thru sometimes with our memory,,,or rather , our lack of it.? When I ordered all the repair parts from here,,,I am positive I ordered the liner O Rings and NOW I cannot find them friggin things!! I've looked Hi and Lo and they are hiding really good,,!! I'll give em, another search tamarrow and I'm gonna have to get some coming as I'm gettin antsy bout hearing this engine running,,,,I ordered a new pilot bearing and the clutch release bearing as I had not done so. I think the PO had replaced the clutch and pressure plate as the clutch facings looked like new,,,and the springs on PP were plenty stiff,,.

New style clutch disc no longer has copper in it or zinc. Instead it has more steel fragments and is now capable of sticking, freezing type,
to the flywheel and clutch plate.
Now you get to use a C clamp or other device to hold the clutch in the disengaged position when NOT in use.
Or else the next time you use it, it will be froze hard as a brick.

Now if you desire, you can use a Kevlar clutch disc. Those won't freeze. However, they do not like to be slipped at all and are allergic to
any oil leak.

Your choice.
To Freeze, or not to freeze. Therein lies the question.

When you go to reinstall the liners and new O rings, use some water based plumber lube, plumbing supply for putting plastic pipes together.
Makes the o rings slip right it and a good seat. I have a small bucket of the stuff that I used when running a few hundred feet of pvc 6
sewer line.

Bruce, Bruce,,Bruce,,,,I'm hoping the clutch is not one of the newer "enviornmentlly Friendly" material and if it does need some zinc I got plenty of them zinc vitamins I can crush up some and just dust em on the clutch as I install it,,,,,,,reckon that will work,,,??? Thanks for the info,,,,, :)

On Tom's comment I think I do have a small bottle left over from a plumbing job,,better check it as it been a while since last use,,,,
