TO30 temp sensor broke off in neck

I am replacing the temperature sensor on a 1951 TO30 and was successful unscrewing the temperature sensor, however it appears the rod on the end of the sensor broke off and is stuck in the neck. Should I try and drill it out?

I was able to remove the piece by first tapping it with a small puncture wound punch. I was thinking if I could drill a centered hole I might be able to screw something into it and pull it. However upon tapping the punch the sensor moves enough to loosen it and then I was successful pulling it with needle nosed pliers

Ya fixed it!
Ya' done good!
Attaboy!!

Nice when something that looks nasty turns out so well.
Hope the rest of the project works out as well.
