TO-20 oil pressure

I changed oil in my TO-20 tractor (1949 model). When I cranked up the engine I had no oil pressure (had oil pressure before oil change). I removed
the oil gauge line where it connects to the block; no oil comes out when engine is running. Oil pressure would come up quickly after starting the engine
before the oil change. Open to all opinions and suggestions to solve this problem.

Thanks as always for shareing your wisdom and experience

Sounds like the pump lost its prime.

Try squeezing some oil into the open fitting with an oil bottle and a pointed top.

Reconnect the gauge line, start the engine and bring the RPM up. It should pick up pressure in a few seconds, otherwise STOP!

Could be a coincidence, but the oil pumps are known to fail where the driven gear attaches to the shaft. Sudden failure with no warning.

Hey Steve,,This is good news to know as I was fixing to start with the re-assembly of the lower end of my TO20. Finally received the correct rod bearings and I'm now gonna take a real close LOOK at the pin securing the gear onto the shaft. Many Thanks.
