TO30 Valve retainers

Hello

I have a1953 TO30, I am finishing up rebuilding the motor and I am running into issues finding Key type retainers for my exhaust valves.

I bought the valve overhaul kit from Yesterday Tractor and their exhaust valves are key type exhaust stems. All my valves intake and exhaust are pin type. I have been unsuccessful finding these retainers.

Does anyone know where I can buy 4 key type exhaust valve stem retainers from?

Thank you
Andy

I think what you need is what lots of people call valve spring retainer The trouble is with key type retainer on valves they require exhaust valve roto caps for TO30. Last set of 4 I purchased from Montes equipment in CHGO. RC40a is Sealed power roto cap part #. This # was used on many Continentals from years past.

Thanks Tom
Unfortunately that URL was a gear box and I gave them a call and they were not able to look up a part without a part number.

So it seems everyone sells the exhaust valves for key/lock type retention but no one sells the actual retainers.

I wonder if a 8N key retain work.

These part numbers may be correct for exhaust valve rotaters.
840873m91 or 835983m91. They might come in sets of 4 so one each of number get you what you need. Double check the part numbers before you spend money. Clinton store has some I think.

Finial found a set of 4, they call them "Continental Valve Rotator Cup"
at Roberts tractor at a bargain price of $98 for 4 used ones with shipping, which was the same price for the entire valve and spring kit.

They are the only company that seems to carry them anymore, so they have the market cornered.

My dad is a retired diesel tech. I have a cabinet full of his used valve caps, springs and retainers. If I knew what they looked like. I might have some. I know
there are some Farmall F-20 valve retainers in that cabinet.

The cabinet has leather drawers dated 1926.

Thank you for the thought, I already picked them up.
