How do you mean, upgrade? Ive found the Marvel Schebler carbs work well as long as theyre not worn out. If you can rebuild yours or find another
used one and rebuild you should be fine. This ones on eBay, no affiliation

Nothing better I have found.

The MS carb is time tested and simple.

As long as it's not broken, abused, modified, or the wrong carb for the engine, it
can be restored.

Many times a carb is falsely accused because of some other problem with the tuning
or health of the engine.
