Fergie Positioner for Ferguson TEA 20

Hi

I am trying to locate a Positioner device for my Ferguson TEA 20
from 1951 so that I can keep my rear forks about a foot off the ground
while hauling pallets.

Does anyone know where I can buy one. I had heard there used to
be one on Australia about ten years ago. Not sure if that?s still sold.
Any plans or connections would sure be appreciated at this time.

Still sold by Stephen Daunt from Tasmania . About $100. Australian .

I can thoroughly recommend this unit , brilliant response and clever , unfussed design .

If you're a just a little handy with doing stuff yourself, I built this one years ago for my TE from the plans in the link here. I can't claim any credit for the design - I think it was all down to Jeff.

Anyway, it worked really well, and cost nothing to build as I used bits lying around in the shed. Result!

Sorry - misposted this reply to the wrong place - haven't been on here for years :D

Spent half a day over the weekend building the position control. Gotta say, it really works well. Kept my trailer from dragging the ground, or automatically unloading everything when the lift went too high. Definately worth doing.

Well done and I bet you had some fun making it too. I changed the split pins (I think you guys call them cotter pins?) for small R clips so I could easily and quickly swap back to draft control if I needed to. Didn t happen often but it was easy to pull the clips and washer off and put them in the toolbox.

That's a good idea. I have found I can loosen the one nut and tighten the quadrant nut. Then position control just slips and the quadrant lever holds position. The draft control works as normal. Tighten and loosen again as needed and back to position control.

I always have a pliers in my pocket so this works for me, but the clips are a great idea.

In any case the position control makes my Fergie much handier for many tasks. I really like it.
