Hello I acquired a TO 30 from my grandfather recently. Tractor had been parked for a good many years after the lift quit working after a box scrape hung up on a stump and pushed the lift up high, however the PTO did still work.
I got the tractor to my house and have removed the pto, lift cover etc...
What I found was it seems like the position lever and where hte control spring "shaft" comes in all of that was just bound up and rusty. You were not able to get any movement from the position lever to actually move the linkage.
There was a lot of old rust and and gunk in the case and oil sitting with the pump. While I have it out I would like to just rebuild the pump. Seems like there is a rebuild kit for it but can anyone tell me what else I should look at while in there?
I was thinking I may should replace the rings on the lift cylinder, I also need to replace the external position lever it seems to be bent and not getting much movement on of the shaft that goes into the linkage in the tractor.
Anything else you can think of?
