talking with my brother yesterday and he said the 3btm Ferguson plow my dad had had curved coulters. never knew they existed ???

Fluted or rippled counters that look a little like a pastry wheel were designed for use in fields with lots of trash or heavy weeds . The ripples trapped the stalks under the cutting edge a little more effectively .

An option on many plows but rarely seen. My father bought a NOS JD 145 plow in the late 80's. The book showed an optional coulter like that. There was an aftermarket Lantz coulter in the 50's that was like that. It was used to prevent plugging in cornstalks.
