Run across this about a year ago, overall a nice machine. Has a few minor issues. Got kicked out of the barn and sit in the field a few years. Pulled plugs and dosed her up w atf fluid. Then drain, flush raditor, oil, filter, diff fluid and complete tune-up plus a good carburetor clean up and it fired right up. Starts w a quarter turn of the hankcrank.
Another one saved from the scrap pile

Thanks fellers. This was my first tractor since my kid years. Knew the original owner, it was bought from the granddaughter, sadly all the implements were scrapped and barn was tore down before I knew it was availible. I can only imagine what went to the scrapyard. Had not been started in years,Engine Wasnt stuck luckily and carb float was stuck "closed" puffs a little smoke, haven't run compression test. Basically getting it ready for its new owner, my job is done, almost.

The 75 tips apply here as well for the most part.

TIP # 9. OOPS! Me forgot to do that.

Didn't turn off sediment valve. Checked oil this morning and noticed it was "way to full" and smells like gas. Air cleaner hose clamps were tight "as they should be" loosened clamp and let rest of trapped gas drain out.
Discovered the culprit
Float doesn't fully close and gas has to go somewhere.

Now I get to change the new oil and filter that had been run about 10 hours.

Tip #9 is deeply planted in brain now, bet that won't happen again.
