Innerchange Question: 8N Attachment To A TO-30

Morning,
I have an 8N I need to shut down and repair. It has a bolt on, not the three point, 54B100 Sherman Power Digger and a dozer blade. I believe it is an ARPS. Will these implements bolt up to a TO-30? I found a Ferguson TO-30 on Craigslist's a few hours north of me. Spent many seasons cutting hay with Massey-Ferguson's. Nice to know if the TO-30 stops it can still steer and be pull started.

Sorry for barging in here with 8N shenanigans but I figured this group would know.

It looks like they won't. The wings on the lower bracing bracket are different from mine. Sort of the same shape but minor differences in hole locations would be the deal breaker. Looks like yours has been completely overhauled. Next time my digger arm breaks I am upgrading from 3/8" BOM to 1/2".

Is yours off a TO-30?

When I take some mounting point measurements would you mind comparing them to yours?

Harry designed the hyd 3 PT system. Ford widely distributed it with his 9N and 2N while Harry did it with the TO-20 and the T0-30 among
others. The 8N came around in '48, give or take, and it still used the same sized implements with the same connection points.
That '30 would have a fair amount of power more than the 8N. Hate to see you let that '30 slide when it could work out very nicely for you.
Just my 2 cents.
 
The TO-30 looks like it is in better shape than my 8N. One thing that concerned me was the water in the oil. I deal with one of the Continental engines like that on a stationary welder. We had the machine shop weld it and press the sleeves in. That one worked. I just got off the phone with a tractor collector that said he would replace the block. I am going to pass on the Ferguson for that reason. If anyone is interested the tractor is located in Clint(?). You can find it on Roswell, New Mexico Craigslist's.

I owned a pinned Fergy block and even patched one with Block seal. The prospect of a leaky engine would not really deter me for the gain in
power, if appropriately priced.
 
Mine was upgraded at some point with a June 14, 1950 six cylinder engine. Kind of a waste it just being a portable power source for the backhoe. I agree on the power. Seems the 4 cylinder was good for the emplements of 1939 but was quickly overtaxed in the 40's.

ome to think of it I have never seen or heard of a Ferguson with an engine upgrade. Guess he had it figured out early on.
