Just, Wanted to say Hi and introduce myself my name is Larry and live in Graham Wa. I just acquired a 1948 TE20 that I will be attempting to get running. I was told it ran when parked . so will see. May have some questions when I get into it. Looking forward to playing with it and making new friends.

My first recommendation, buy a shop manual! They are inexpensive, and will more than pay for itself in mistakes not made. Online information is good, but nothing beats having verified facts in hand while you work on it! Read it cover to cover, get yourself into the mind of the engineers of yesterday!
Before you try to start it, crack all the drain plugs loose, see what you get. If it's been stored outside, real good chance it has water in the cases and engine. Letting it drain out before starting will be much easier than after it is emulsified into the oil. Don't drain the oils yet, just drain the water off the bottom.
Also get some oil in the cylinders. Pull the plugs, give each cylinder a few squirts of oil. Hopefully it is not stuck!

Greetings from Hillsboro, Ore. Pull the plugs and lube the cylinders. I recently got an 8N back to running after sitting some 20 years.
I drowned each cyl with Seafoam and let it sit a day, Changed the oil, plugs out turned it over by hand, new battery and starter, cranked it
over until the O/P came up. Install fresh plugs, file the points and it fired.
Then is smoked to beat the doors down for about 25 minutes as the Seafoam was burnt off from the manifold to the exhaust pipe.
Still needs work and I still have a few projects before I get back to it.

Hi Larry and welcome. I also have a TE20, along with some TO30’s and 35’s. Do as others have already stated to get her freshened. You’re going to
learn the electrics are made in England by Lucas. Parts can be found for them. I had a little trouble with the distributor being stuck (not able to
advance the timing) and was able to take it apart and get it moving without needing any parts just patients and penetrating oil.
