just wanted to say thanks for the advice. I recently needed to replace a broken PTO shaft on my '53 TO-30 and followed his advice for changing/flushing the old oil (mine was the worst I've ever seen) and re-filling.
for others: I bought the PTO shaft assembly from YT, and it fit perfectly. Easiest repair I've ever done, in 50-odd years of working on stuff.
