I suppose it depends a bit upon the angle and length of the road. If it's going down, I suppose speed is proportional to angle and distance.
if the angle and distance is great enough, I would suggest neutral gear to allow as much free wheeling as possible without the impediment of the transmission or engine as much as possible.
Just for the fun of it try "down the road" with your phone and a speedo app.
 
have someone follow you in a vehicle. i had a MF 35 with that size turf tires. went faster than i wanted in all gears and ranges.
