I bought an alternator on this site with a gear drive. After it arrived, I realized it wouldn't work on the factory mount so I ordered a 'unversal mount'. After about 10 dollars in assorted washers, bolts, bushings, and 3 hours I think I have something that will mount and line up with the pulleys. Everything must be situated exactly right and cranked down crazy tight to make it clear. I cannot under any circumstances get the top bracket to mount to the alternator. I have moved it around on the water pump, I've put it on the outside and inside of the alternator, and finally I just yanked an arm off my TE20.
None of these options allow proper mounting.
I would be incredibly grateful is someone could put me in touch with someone or some parts that will allow me to properly mount this alternator where the bolts don't interfere with the belt and the top arm doesn't interfere with the throttle linkages. I just cannot figure it out.
What do I need to do to get this mounted ??
