To30 exhaust clamp

Your asking about the clamp at the manifold?

Down under exhaust, be sure the rear of the muffler is supported securely to the transmission. If it's moving around it will not stay tight. Or worse!

If vertical exhaust it probably won't stay tight unless you can find a way to reinforce the load, keep it from whipping around. Lots of stress on the manifold.

Thanks Steve. I was hoping they had a better clamp. I did convert it to upright exhaust. I will have to figure out how to put another support on it. The new pipe came with a support but I never figured out exactly where it went and had to modify it to make it work. May have been for a 8n.

I use the standard clamp with a layer of high temp Red RTV. No leaks and does not come loose. Most of the excess can be removed
when dry.

I will give that a try when I get around to working on it. Thank you for the suggestion.

(quoted from post at 02:28:46 06/01/20) I have heard of using alum. foil to act as a inner gasket. never did it myself.

I have some foil that's used for wrapping parts for heat treating that helps. Aluminum foil may form better.
I need a strap clamp because of clearing the loader arms.
If you are clamping for a permanent connection heating it with a torch as you draw it down will make a seal.
In the vertical pipe I like to be able to remove it.

The clamps I have got just dont seem to fit the fergy although they seem to work good on the 8n. Putting something in there to take up space may help. I tried a piece of wire once but must not of worked. Really needs more support but I haven't seen a good way to do that yet.
