Red Rocks cable to lever kit

Anyone done this conversion? What was the procedure? ( besides splitting the tractor) I m thinking of doing it before my cable takes a crap. For now my cable works perfect, it must have been replaced Before I purchased the tractor. How long will the cable last? I spray a little pb blaster on the cable everytime I run it.
Thanks!

PB Blaster is more to free up a frozen rusted part. Its a penetrating oil.
They make spray lubricating oil for that. A bicycle or motorcycle shop would have spray cable lubrication.
I would leave it as is until it fails but I understand your outlook on beating it to the punch of failing

I love my pb blaster... lol anyhow I have an older fella who is willing to help me do this job, he s very mechanically gifted and I d like the help. He s told me he s not sure how
Long he will be around... so let s get it done. I can t argue with that... he s a great guy and has been a huge help throughout the years.

Friends like that are rare. I can relate to not knowing how long Ill be around. 2015 and 2016 were ugly. Enjoy every day by working on an old tractor.
If those cables chronically fail change it. And spray all the PB Blaster you like. I like it to ! I always spray it two or three times because I like the way it appears to flow down into the crevice. Then I wipe up the puddle on the floor.
Tell your friend that Mike says he's a good man.

Another thing to consider is where the handle will come out. Photo is of an 8n. The TO starter bump out might interfere with the position of the handle. I know to install the step up/down in a ford NAA
or later hundred series the handle come out to close to the bump out and the handle has to be altered to fit or ran out the other side of the tractor which I don't believe the redrock handle has the
capability of doing. You might want to pop the steering box off and take some measurements before investing in the conversion. I have some 8n trannys with shermans in you need measurements for shifter.

I don t know, I had thought these conversion kits were made specifically for the ferguson models.... I ll have to check, if you can yes, give me the measurements.. thanks!
