drag link connection TE20 1948

I had to pull front axle off from tractor....in turn take off front drag link, then pop out front drag link tapperd
bolt from spindle arm (steering gear).....now I am having problems getting this back together......
the tappered bolt doesnt seem to want to seat back into the spindle arm.....was just wondering if anyone else has had
to do this.......
just wondering if there is a special trick to mking this this go back into place. I might try just jacking the front
axle up & go from there .......not sure????
 
Drag link generally connects the steering arm side to the non steering arm side..
You have two steering arms.
I don't believe you have a drag link as it is known in general automotive terms.
As for putting it all back together, you should be on the right track by jacking it up and relieving stress.
Once it gets unloaded, the angles should line up for you with no problem.
