TO-20 temperature gauge

I didn't want to hijack Rsoyring's post, but my TO20 doesn't have a temperature gauge. Was that an option back in the day? If so, where on the dash was it mounted?

Just put one in my TO-30. There is a knockout on the LH side of the dash. Probably see it better fron behind as the front was finished and painted. Just like an electrical knockout, pops right out. Look on the back and find where it's still mechanically attached (two points) and using a small chisel, carefully hit the edges of the "plug" and it'll start to move and you can twist it out.

If it doesn't have the knock out on the dash, it probably doesn't have a machined hole in the thermostat housing for the sensor bulb.

I "think" a thermostat housing from a 30 will fit, but there is no other practical place on the engine to put one.

I believe the oil pressure and amp were suppose to be on the dash. A red indicator (charging) light was on the dash to go with the oil gauge.
I also opted to install an electric water temp gauge on the dash to go with the red light and oil gauge. On another panel under the battery,
I did mount the wife a few other gauges. Hours, fuel, volts, possibly amps just to be contrary, with an electrical master disconnect.
Have fun dear. I also gave her a sliding adjustable seat. That seat might undergo another mod so it can be raised.
Her machine also has the Howard and low range Hupp combo. Waiting to add an Everett.

Thanks everyone. I'll check the back of the panel tomorrow or when it stops raining. Did the sensor bulb go on left side of the head up front?

Here's what you're looking for. Gauge isn't the correct one, but it works....

I thought it was pretty crazy too! On mine it s mounted on the other side of the dash as the oil pressure, I almost wonder if this was like an "aftermarket" option because it wasn t sealed nearly as well as the oil pressure. The oil pressure gauge is completely fine but the water temp was rusted so bad. I m not exactly sure the history on this tractor as it was my grandpas.

On further inspection I see what happened I think. My TO20 is converted to 12 volts, no red light, and an ammeter on the left side of the panel. Up front on the engine is what looks like an elbow coming out of the head that is plugged off. This is my first Ferguson, so I have nothing to compare it to. Thanks again for the replies.
