Many moons ago I split my TED20 and replaced the clutch. I never quite finished the job, but today I put everything back together got tractor running again. I decided to give it a small text drive, so started the tractor, foot on clutch and popped it into first.
The tractor suddenly lurched forward and started driving and I quickly shut it down. I realised at that point I had forgotten to readjust the new clutch. So I adjusted it as per the diagram in the manual with 3/8 free play in the pedal.
I went to start it up again but now it the shifter feels like it is stuck in neutral. I cannot change into any gear or start it. Furthermore it is not actually in neutral. I cannot roll the tractor and I see the fan rotate as I rock it back and forth, so it appears to be stuck in gear.
I tried adjusting the clutch as much as possible but it did not help the situation.
This has me stumped at the moment, can anybody shed any light on what might be going on and how to fix it?
