I?ve ordered from the UK but there available in USA. Try to find info just can?t remember where. I?ve never taken those off probably have to heat to remove rivet

The rivets are made from the hardest toughest steel known to man ! :x Whereas the plates are the thinnest lousiest alloy ever produced . Don't even think of trying to drill them , all you will get is broken drill bits and holes in your fingers . I have sheared them off with a sharp cold chisel , ground the surface flat [ it's usually rusty underneath anyway ] and then drilled new holes .

Once removed you will find a white oxidation on the rear of the plates . This is difficult to neutralise without affecting the underlying metal . A scotchbrite pad and vinegar on the rear will work if you are careful , nothing on the front or you will loose all the details . Once washed in soapy water and dried a clear coat will seal it from further deterioration .
If you want to you can accentuate the black areas with some Humbrol model paint , but it takes an age and a straight and steady hand to do this .
