Honestly haven' figured out "search topics" yet....does the 35 have a Hydraulic/transmission oil filter. The manual isn't clear on it.
 
None I have seen had a filter.

There are later model pumps that did have a filter, and I think it can be replaced with a pump that does, but factory, no filter.

Are you having a lift problem, or just doing maintenance?

Those are known for getting water in the gear cases. It usually doesn't cause problems, but needs to be drained and changed. A bad shifter boot, a bad draft link boot, condensation are the usual causes.

A slow, jerky lift is a sign of a bad pump. A weak, rapidly falling lift is a leaking cylinder seal, blown stand pipe orings, or a bad pressure relief valve.
 
The PO showed me a crack in the cover. I slapped some silicon on it and didn't worry about it. I checked the level the other day and saw the milky water sign so I was just going to change the oil. The manual speaks to the 2 "magnetic" drain plugs so maybe that is all there is. Thanks.

What a sweet tractor. Does everything my big ones do (without the remotes and obvious HP differences). has the Hi-Lo gearing and I don't have to climb up with the new hip! Much better than my TO20
 
Yes, 2 drain plugs.

It holds 8 gallons of oil. Originally the oil was GL1 90 weight mineral oil. For cold weather use 14w-40 engine oil can be substituted.

When refilling, if you pour it in the top plug of the transmission, add it very slowly. The passages from the trans to the rear housings are small, put it in too fast and oil will dump past less than perfect front shaft seals into the clutch!

Alternative is to put it in the right round cover. Fill to the bottom bolt hole.

I believe the later 35's had a strainer on the pump that can be seen by taking off the inspection cover by your left foot. The early 35's did not have that strainer.
But then again I could be wrong, wife tells me daily that I am.
