Oil pressure and carb

I have a T 20 tractor with a problem when I start it up oil pressure is between 35 and 40 psi after it runs for a while oil pressure drops down to around 10 gradually does anyone have this problem if so how can I fix it also on the carburetion of it it starts up And slowly tries to rip itself up someone has ripped a spring up but it broke I do not know where it was connected is it the governor that was messed up I have ordered a new carburetor and should be here any day try on it if anyone has a picture that would show the carburetor and it?s hook ups how old is hooked up on their tractor I would appreciate it

I do not know that tractor as such but that oil pressure is pretty much what most older tractor do and is just fine. Oil when cold is thick so pressure is higher. When the engine gets warm the oil gets thin so pressure goes down. I run O'Reilly's brand 20W-50 in almost every one of the tractors and have for decades with no problems

If it has the Continental Z120 engine, either the oil pump is worn or the relief valve is stuck partially open, or the bearings are worn. MY old TO-30 with a remanufactured engine had 27 psi hot or cold and at any rpm. Same pump.

two answers on oil pressure and both about all there. Oil pressure cold is higher due to engine clearances being tighter and oil is thicker.
21 minutes later, the engine is at operating temp. Oil has thinned out a bit and the engine components have warmed up and expanded, especially bearing clearances. A cheap attempt to bring up the oil pressure is to drop in the 15/40 Diesel grade oil containing zinc. That will also help to keep the flat tappet cam alive in the long run.
Currently, my left knee was replaced 9 days ago and I cannot get outside to take a pic.

The oil pressure you are describing is normal. Having 10 PSI at warm idle is nothing to worry about, seen them much lower and run for years.

Here is the governor and throttle linkage. Everything has to be right for it to work. If you ordered a new generic carb, look closely at the linkage on the old one. It must be set up exactly the same.
