I just bought a 1954 TO-30. She is running well. What are the pros and cons of conducting a Spin Off Oil Filter Conversion ( https://amzn.to/2ow0unE )?

Filters are easier to change.

But if you mow brush, you might get a stick poked through the side of the filter.

Spin on filters are readily available and much cheaper than the cartridge filter. It takes about 3 oil changes for the difference in filter cost to pay for the adapter.

Some years ago I saw a tractor after a co-worker bumped the oil filter with a small stick or something and put a hole in it. Oil exits pretty fast.

Partly for that reason I've stayed with the cartridge filter setup which seems better protected. It's not that hard to change.

Filters for a TO30 are readily available. Napa 1010. Always in stock at my Napa at least.

But do whatever is best for you.
