TO-35 Oil Pressure

What should the oil pressure be on a '55 TO-35 operating at normal temp @1600 rpms? Only 100 hrs since full overhaul including rebuilt oil pump.

By the IT manual,

Gas, 20-30 PSI at 2200RPM, idle not lower than 15PSI.

Diesel, 60PSI at 1400 RPM.

Those are ideal numbers. I've seen gassers run for years a lot lower.

The general rule is 10 PSI per 1000 RPM is sufficient.

A lot depends on the oil used, and the temperature of the oil. I would be more concerned with a change from where it has been running. Common for a fresh rebuild to have high pressure, then drop and level off once broke in.

If concerned, drain the oil in a clean container, cut open the filter, look for glitter.
