He folks; I'm not new to this site, but new to this forum. I usually hang out at both of the Ford forums. I just bought what I believe is a T0-20 Ferguson with a loader. The reason I say "believe" is the S.N. plate above the steering wheel is as smooth as a baby's b***. The S.N. on the left side of the engine reads, Z120A600. The tractor's left side brake is on the left side. Is there any way of telling what year it might be? Casting dates for instance?

that is the engine block number that denotes a TO-20.
is there a plate on the left side of the engine block below the head ? if there is it will have a eng serial no. and spec no. those numbers can be traced to a engine build date.

That was fun. Her Fergy sits close to the 881D along with the 871 Demonstrator. Both of those with the SOS trans. I say "Hers" because she is the one who desired it initially and authorized it re-manufacture. Mostly. There are a few things done that were beyond the scope and a few things remaining to either be done or un-done.
A few 8n"s 9N and 2N are out there also.
If your TO-20 tractor is using a front pulley for the loader pump, that pulley is beyond obsolete. Her TO-20 got a diamond plate reinforced center axle section for a front loader. That front loader never go put on. I had another machine show up with a FEL and then the 871 showed up with a FEL.
That loader on the Fery can be made easier to steer if you keep it that way.

Steve, I haven't got the tractor home yet. But I did see that plate on the left side of the engine. It was painted over and I couldn't see any numbers on it. Are the numbers stamped into the plate? If I removed some paint from it, should I see some numbers there?
