New Owner Asking For Help

Good Morning fellow enthusiasts. I just bought my first 'big' tractor' and want to clean it up and get it running a little better. I have a few questions and I would really appreciate any help you guys can send my way. I was told it was a 1962 TO35, but after a quick serial number check it appears to be a 1955 TO35. Serial number is 160211. (Hard to read, but pic attached).

-I think I might need a carb and I haven't been able to find one that matches exactly what I have on my tractor. Has anyone seen one like this? (Pic attached). I have seen ones that look very similar, but not exact.

-Lastly, I see holes in the hood where it looks like emblems were. (pic attached) Was this correct for 1955? Does this mean it is a "Ferguson?" The emblem on the hood is "MF" so needless to say... I am confused.

Can any wise MF owners shed any light on exactly what I have?
Thanks for reading...

Oh and please don't worry or give me a hard time. That lame looking headlight is coming off in favor of something more appropriate.

Welcome aboard!
Let the harassment begin!
Okay, that was fun.
New carb? Why? You just want to spend money.
Under the hood of most every vehicle ever produced lives a "Hood Monster". The purpose of the "Hood Monster" is to remove all the green out
of your wallet. If it runs, leave the hood shut and keep the monster under control.
Not going to listen, are you?
I don't listen to myself either 1/2 the time.
Which explains the 3 trucks, 2 dozers, 8 tractors, 9? 5 trailers, thought I had 6, 2 or 3 riding mowers, 2 push mowers. . .
One of the trucks is a '93 F350 dually crew-cab undergoing a 4X4 conversion. . .Including rebuilding the transfer case and transmission.
Don't know if I am going to do that one or someone else. Hood monster bit hard on THAT one.
Once again, whey the carby?
If it is running, you really don't want to play with it. If it is running "off" do the tune up items first. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor,
points, condenser, coil, resistor. . .
Then look at the carb. After the electrical is dialed in.
Kinda like put the horse in front of the cart.
Gotta run. I have two trailer hitches to sell off.
PS. Please don't paint it yellow and green.

Thanks, Bruce. Don't worry... it will get the red and grey paint treatment.
It 'may' need a carb. It has a miss when cold that goes away when it heats up. I did order a tune up kit, but I don't see any of that fixing a cold engine miss. I hope I am wrong...

Plug wires can fix a cold miss. BTDT. Carb will not fix a cold miss. That is what the choke was made for and it effects all cylinders, not
just one or three.

the two push buttons on the good is correct for 1955
the MF badge on the front of the hood does not belong
the carb looks like a zenith. I thought MS carbs were on 55's.
I not see a cover plate where the pwr steering pump would mount so that indicates a fairly early 55.
the holes at the back of the hood are correct

these are photos of a 55 TO-35 at Wengers in Myerstown pa.
notice the shape of the dash as it is different than later ones.

I?m just going to say welcome aboard and you found the right place for help and the occasional jibes

qesiii, I noticed you told Bruce you would paint it Red & Gray. If you look at the pictures steve14938 posted for you that is the way your tractor left the factory. This may help you: http://fergusontractors.org/nfs/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Ferguson-Color-Chart-7-1-18.pdf
