What's kind of gas is best for my TO-30? I've been having trouble keeping the tank clean ever since it was rusted up pretty bad. I cleaned it out with Muriatic Acid, and it looked like new, but it gets flakey real quick, so I heard that a Radiator Shop can clean them out so I'm going to try that and see if they can do it.
So then I was going to just run 87 octane with stabilizer in it. Will that be enough to counter the ethonel that's in the gas now a days, or is there any other additives that are good to use?

for over 30 years I have run 87 unleaded. whatever comes from the pump. never had any fuel related problems. TO20 TO35 MF35. Fords 9N 8N 2N Naa 3600.

It's not the gas, the tank is still flaking rust.

Just a matter of time before it starts leaking.

I would replace it asap, be done with the frustration.

FYI. Purchased a 3400 gas with very rusty tank. Had it cleaned and lined at radiator shop. Should never rust again, but it cost $274.00. Tried to purchase new tank but none available.

I have been running Non Ethanol 92 grade in my To30 what a
difference in power and starting .
Its a bit pricey in cost but well worth it

(quoted from post at 14:11:34 07/14/19) I would coat the tank with POR 15 or red coat, prep is super important.

I'll second the preparation part. I fought for 5 or 6 years with a POR 15 job done by the previous owner that was flaking off....frustrating to say the least!
