Histroy to 20 two tractors 12 V conversion on both / was eating points & condensers 6-8 hrs run time switched to electronic ig.
first one lasted 3-4 hrs put new back in running many 5hrs on it so far / Other many be 20 hrs electronic dyes /changed back to points & condenser may be 4 hrs just burnt up points had to change / have resistor coils new when installed elec. ig. have installed resistors also / voltage & omes all in limits
WHAT HELL AM I MISSING
HAVE POSTED THIS PROBLEM BEFOR / RUNNING OUT OF OPTIONS HELP
 
A lot of times when people change to 12 v they don't buy a coil with
internal resistor. You have this coil? It will be printed on side coil
that it's internal or to use with add on resister.Just a thought.
 
Check the battery voltage when the engine is running at full throttle. It should not exceed 14.4 volts. If you have a bad regulator it may be putting out too much voltage leading to burned points or burned out electronic ignition. It will also lead to a dead battery in time as it boils out all the electrolyte.
