MF35 radiator

I have an MF35 deluxe gas tractor. (Definitely not a TO-35) Serial# is SGM 248755.

My son bought me this radiator as a gift:

The part# checks out from the AGCO website.

But the top neck on the new radiator goes straight out like this:

The radiator that's still in the tractor has a curved upper neck like this:

Any idea what's going on? Is their radiator just wrong?

Very common problem with aftermarket radiators, not fitting correctly.

If you have the time and money, best have your radiator recored. Check with a real radiator shop, one that specializes in heavy trucks and equipment.

They will probably try to act uninterested, but be persistent. Let them know you are serious, not looking for a patch but a real rebuild.

also the rod bracket is too high. I have one like your new one in one of my 35's that I bought years ago. have to be real careful when ordering. btw: that particular radiator, mine, was made in Ireland.

Wanted to follow up on what happened with this.

I contacted the folks at Abilene machine, where the radiator came from. I emailed them some pictures and explained the problem.

A really helpful guy named Brent replied. He found a different vendor that offered the radiator with a curved upper neck. He sent me the radiator to try out, and said it it fit just send the other one back to him.

He did as he said he would, and the new radiator arrived a few days later. Thankfully it did have a curved neck:

So all is well. Now I just gotta get the old one shipped back to hold up my end of the bargain.
