Initial Carb Settings

Based on my previous post after performing tests recommended it appears I had a clogged jet. Took carburetor off and cleaned it and ordered rebuild kit (comprehensive). Finished with that.

What are the initial setting. Looks to be two adjustment screws.

Thanks

Robert

I would start with the idle about 1 1/2 turn out, the main about 2 turns out.

The idle adjustment, turning in richens the mix, out leans it.

The main, turn in 1/4 turn at a time until it stumbles on sudden throttle opening. Then start backing it out 1/4 turn at a time until it takes throttle without hesitation, a puff of black smoke is the goal.

Of course all this is done with a healthy engine, properly tuned, up to temperature with a 180 thermostat.

Ok, thank you.

As Steve said. However, you may need to put it under load, like bush hogging or plowing, at rpms up around 1500 to really test the main
jet.
