Hello does the TO35 have a dual clutch? Mine is 1958 TO35 MHF SGF 180250 gas deluxe. I've replaced the piston rings on the hydraulic cylinder it's a 3" and lifts my heaviest implemts but bleeds off when I engage the clutch

Do you mean the lift bleeds off when the clutch is fully depressed?

Some creep down is normal, but it shouldn't rapidly fall.

You can pull the right inspection cover and look in, see where the oil is going.

With an implement on the 3 pt, tell it to raise, look in and up. You will see the bottom of the cylinder. Some oil dripping is normal, but should not be streaming.

Also check the stand pipe. Oil running down or boiling up from below means the oring is blown.

A properly adjusted 2 stage clutch will disengage the drive gears first, then when pushed further will disengage the PTO/hydraulic drive. But, it will not make the lift go down any faster than shutting off the engine.

To my knowledge, deluxe means it has a dual clutch. But a lot can be changed in 60 years.

Ok thanks I read up on prefixes. I'll drain some oil and pull the inspection cover hopefully I can an indication of leaking

Steve and Steve are right. Unless dash plate has been replaced, your clutch is most likely single stage, and thus, to my knowledge, it is a Special, not a Deluxe.

Shouldn't need to drain any oil. The oil level is to the bottom of the bottom bolt of the round cover.

You can drive the rear wheel up on a block to tip the oil away from the cover if you like.
