this past week end found evidence of Emerald Ash Borer on our property in upstate Pa. (Tioga County) may have to timber property before the trees lose all their value.

I'm a bit further west of you and might have the wife convinced to take down the trees this year. They have all gotten too big and losing value.

(quoted from post at 05:59:00 03/21/19) Saw on TV the 100 yrs + Olive trees in Spain are dying from a disease that they don't know anything about. Or how to stop the disease.
That's interesting to hear Miner... my grandpa had to come to America cause the olive trees in Italy had a disease... someday soon there might be millions of new Tony's coming to America...

Ya no... every time I thought I was going to make a buck logging off my trees... I ended up losing about $10 a tree. If they are sick, and going to die, get them gone yesterday. If you end up with enough cash to buy a 6 pack of cheap beer, consider yourself ahead in the game.
Was it not General Custer who said "the only good tree is a dead tree" ?????

Ah... Puglian-nay... agh mannudg-a... I wouldn't buy a used Fiat Bambino from them. Don't ever lend a Puglian money, you'll never see it again... if there ever was an edible thing on the planet the human race does NOT need... it's olive oil... I will never understand it... maybe someday someone will explain it to me...

Steve
I live in Clearfield County Pa
I have a little over 200 acres in timber and all my Ash trees are gone
started about 5 years ago . I discussed it with a state forester and he told me
that once it starts in a area there is not stopping it .
