Well I got me this ol to35 with 23c......project

Well I bought me this lil project the other day....... She has been used and and abused. I'm just going through everything trying to get her usable again.......First the lift pump was bad the oil was high in on the stick so I figures leaky seals on the injector pump rebuilding that.......Looked at the timing chain...... The adjuster sitting in the bottom all chewed up.....replacing that......lol............Since I seen that I might as well pull the head and take a look.....Hopefully after all that it will run pretty good.

They have a bad reputation for being hard to start . Get the timing chain sorted and the pump adjusted and you won't have that problem . Don't give yourself a hernia either , those engines are heavy beasts .

Mine needed the chain and tensioner too, along with sleeves, pistons, rings, and larger Deutz valves in the head with new guides too..

Hope I don't have to go that far but really it's half way stripped.......thinking of just doing it. I plan on working her so it might be wise

Pull the exhaust manifold and look at the ports. Mine were almost completely blocked. Those motors have gotten a bad rap, but once set up correctly start and run well.
