Hello - I am new to the forum group and looking for some information on how to value a tractor of mine. The tractor was given to me from my father and grandfather. They are both passed away so I am limited on history of the tractor. My understanding is it is a 1942 Harry or Henry Furguson. I am inquiring about the value of the tractor to possibly sell. Any assistance will be helpful. Currently the tractor does not run.

Ferguson didn't build in USA until 1947.Your's may be a TO20--TO30.
Post serial number and we can tell you what you have. Above steering
wheel on dash. If it has a breather intake on right side dash it's a
TO30--if not it's a 20. The first letters on serial tag should tell you
what it is also.

That looks like a Ferguson TO 20 or a TE 20. If it is still on there the serial tag will be on "TOP" of the dash between the steering column and the hood. If you get the serial number the first TE 20 was built in 1946 and the first TO 20 was built in 1948. Find the serial number and on the LEFT COLUMN of this page it shows "Research & Info", you can then find "Serial Numbers" and then if you follow through you should be able to find what year your tractor is. A non running tractor in most cases is just above what the scrappers will give you. If you could get it running I would say you could expect to get around $2,800 for it. It is hard to say what you would have to put in it to try to get it running.

Greetings! Value is dependent upon location. Fergys are also known for cracked engine blocks and coolant in the oil. I read the $2800
figure. I find it amusing. Until that machine is running, I would venture closer to scrap price. Not running gives no indication of
possible engine noises that may arise after it is running, if it ever does. Scrap price is around $150 per ton. That basic machine weighs
in around 3,000 pounds. That comes out to about $225. Lets be nice and call it $300. That front loader, if the pistons are not rusted
should bring another $200 or $300 sold separately. I have seen those sell for more but once again, location.
I don't see any Dog Fir trees around you so I would venture to guess that your not close to me.
You can check Craigslist in your area to see what machines are selling for, The closest Ford thing might be the Ford 9N and the 2N.
Those engines are however not prone to cracks in the engine block due to a different design. Ford's are usually a bit more desirable by a
few folks.
Your located where?

Funny how the key points we need to see that aren't obscured by the photo angle, well, they're blocked by the loader.

It may just be my brain filling in the blanks, but I'm seeing a Continental Z120 engine:

if that's your dash?t0-30,looking at the pics?$450-tops.many running 8n,2n,to around central ny.no market even at $1500=running,ready to work

As it has been shown no care in many years and is non running. Only worth $500 in most areas. Could be a money pit to get repaired. Has a "Superior" brand loader.

Ok sorry for the delay in responding back. The serial number is T0-38970 which appears to be a 1950? The motor is stamped Z120 A 800.

I am located in Northeastern Arizona.

Front tires should have 35-45 pounds of air in them, rears should have 12-14 lbs of air in them. Rears may
have calcium chloride liquid in them for weight to off set the weight of the loader. Good luck with the old
gal.
