TO 35 gaskets

Hey all I could use some help locating some gaskets for my TO35. I need the gasket that attached the power steering pump to the engine (Cessna pump).

I also need the gasket for the plate on the bottom front of the transmission. I (tried to at least, not sure if it worked)) attached some pictures. I have a slow leak coming from this plate.

Both gasket should be available from Massey. Part numbers 191469m1 (Pump) and (180481m1) Plate. Wayne

If you have oil coming from inspection plate you have transmission seals bad or rear engine seal leaking. Before replacing engine make sure you have a good cotter key in drain hole in housing. You can use silicone for gasket or buy gasket material and make it. Don't think I've seen gasket for either.

Miner, good to know. Could you point me in the right direction as far as how to move forward? I just bought the tractor and Iím currently cleaning it up and giving it some fresh paint. Thereís a very very slight leak. Itís dripped twice on my garage floor since itís been there ( a month). So should I remove the inspection plate and see how much fluid is behind it? Iím assuming youíre saying it shouldnít have any? I didnít realize it was an inspection plate. I skimmed my shop manual and didnít see anything about it.

Replace the transmission seals are big job. You have to break tractor apart. Pan has to come off engine to replace engine rear main seal.Take plate off and look but check behind(Rear) plate and see if you have a cotter key coming out housing. It sticks out so grass can keep it turned to keep hole open. This is to keep oil out. Yours may be stopped up with dirt. Use wire-- small screw drive and open hole if not open.

Just a couple drops is normal as far as I'm concerned.

I would't do anything but keep an eye on it. If sometime down the road the engine does need to come out, then the leaks can be addressed. I would not go in for such a minor leak.

Have you checked the transmission oil level and condition? Those are notorious for collecting water, which raises the level. Over filled it will surely leak out the front and into the brakes.

Same with the engine, too much oil and it will leak. A lot of the old rope seal engines actually do better running a little below full.

If you do change the transmission/differential oil, best fill it through one of the inspection covers. Filling it through the transmission fill plug hole can cause oil to leak into the clutch. The passages from the transmission to the rear housings are small, pour oil in too fast and it comes out the front seal.

Awesome good to know. I am planning on changing the transmission fluid as well. Iíll look in my manual to find the inspection ports your talking about. I know where the fill plug is near the shifters, but not the inspection plates. Honestly Iím still getting my bearings around this thing.

Inspection plates are on each side below the seat.

If you take off the left side you will have to deal with the PTO shifter, so best work through the right side.

The proper oil level is to the bottom of the inspection hole.
