TO35 water pump

My water pump is leaking and I need a new pump. I'd like to buy just a new pump and use the old pulley. However, I cannot figure out how the pulley comes apart from the pump. How does the pulley come apart from the pump?

If my memory is not too faded the pulley is pressed on the pump. usually something breaks when trying to separate them. if my memory is faded someone will correct me.

Eric, why don't you rebuild your water pump? Then you know it will fit back on there. They are not hard to rebuild.

For sure on breaking that pulley when removing.
Even if you rebuild from a kit you must remove the pulley.
My dad sold these for 50 years and I remember breaking a bunch of pulleys. So find out what the proper way to remove pulley before proceeding.

I'd like to rebuild it but I cannot figure out how to remove the pulley and disassemble. It appears as though the pulley screws onto the pump. I tried to unscrew the pulley but I was afraid of breaking something.

Does anyone have a diagram of how this pump is disassembled?

do you have the gas or diesel model? I am thinking you have the Diesel model if you feel it will unscrew? Diesel should have a threaded pump shaft....but that doesnt mean the pulley or hub is threaded.

My gas TO35 pulley was pressed on. Easier just to get a new pump from here. The pulley lined up fine just like the old one.

(quoted from post at 15:38:09 11/13/18) Thanks for the advice. If I can take the pump apart without breaking it, i'll rebuild it. If I break it then i'll buy a new one

Exactly what I said. Exactly what I did and ended up buying a new one.
